Urgent Declaration of the "Islomii Zhikhod" organization about the uprising of Muslims against the Uzbek dictatorship.I find it suspicious that something like this, which would seem to play right into Karimov's hands with respect to marshalling world opinion to his side, appears just as news is coming out that he's brutally crushed the uprising and is sourced to a sort of random website, although Nathan has heard of the organization. Maybe I am trying too hard to see some non-obvious version of events, which is what reading and watching Russian media all the time will do to you. Speaking of Russian media, here's NTV's most recent report on the Andijan events, with an interesting screen shot from their broadcast on this story.
We believe that the uprising of Muslims in Uzbekistan against the dictatorship is a direct consequence of the repressive policies of the authorities under the leadership of Karimov, and in essence this is an Islamic revolution, whcih we fully support.
We are in solidarity with the people of Uzbekistan in its battle against dictatorship.
We declare war against the bloody regime of Karimov.
I order all warrior-modzhakheds under my command to undertake a broad-scale attack on the whole of Uzbekistan and from all sides!
At the same time I call upon all Muslims to participate in this battle and urgently come to the assistance of our brother Muslims involved in the uprising.
It is the duty of every Muslim to help the Muslim people!
May Allah accept our battle in the name of the preservation of Islamic values, Amen!
May Allah support us in our actions, Amen Allahu Akbar!
Amir of the "Islamic Jihad" organization, Mukhammad Fotekh Bukhorii.

Anyway, I think I'm all played out on this issue, certainly for today. It's after 4am here and tomorrow (today) is a workday here in Russia, even though it's a Saturday - I posted about this interesting phenomenon here. Tomorrow, if I am not too sleep-deprived, hopefully I'll be able to catch up on some of the Russia-related items I was meaning to post before I got distracted by the breaking news from Uzbekistan. Until then, I think I've provided more than enough reading material for one day...
