AFP - "Dozens of physicians ordered into Andijan"

This is actually just a small part of a much larger and fairly complete article about Friday's events by AFP:

Troops fire on protesters as Uzbekistan battles insurgents 13/05/2005 20h53 [presumably CET]
[...]Dozens of physicians from outlying towns were ordered into Andijan while many others in the area were put on standby, one of the doctors who was among those called in from the neighboring city of Namangan to work in a hospital there said.

The doctor, who gave the information to AFP on condition he not be named, declined to provide casualty figures. [...]
The reason I'm highlighting this is because RIA Novosti ran the bit about the doctors as a separate wire item in Russian, it did seem like an ominous detail, and I was pleased to find the original source in English.

Another interesting bit from the same
AFP article:

In Washington, the White House called for calm while the British Foreign Office in London published a statement urging restraint.

In Moscow however, a foreign ministry spokesman condemned the attack by "extremists" and expressed strong support for Karimov.
